George Mason Basketball Wins With Third Consecutive Buzzer Beater By Ian Boyd

Posted by

Holy shit. George Mason is currently on a roll. They just won last night at VCU to win their third straight. Oh and I almost forgot – this is their third straight buzzer beater win BY THE SAME DUDE. Sophomore Ian Boyd’s tip in with .7 seconds left capped off an impressive week. Boyd stated on ESPN last night that his only buzzer beater in his career was at a YMCA game – that is, until this week. Boyd has now his three consecutive buzzer beaters to lift George Mason above .500 in the conference. Can they make a run? Not sure – but buzzer beaters like these definitely help. Below is a quick rundown of the week GMU has had…

WIN vs. St. Josephs 79-76

Boyd grabs a lose ball and casually drains it from three. ICY.

WIN vs. UMASS 78-76 (OT)

Here is the second against UMASS – Boyd has no regard for human life and just waltzes down the lane with the left hand. Where the eff is the defense?!

WIN vs. VCU 81-80

And finally last night – Boyd goes back to back to back with a smooth tip in. Dude has a nose for the ball:

We will see how the year rounds out for GMU – but at the end of the day, they look like they are improving from years past. That’s all you can ask for. They have a ton of athletes on the team, and now it seems they really believe they are going to win these games. They MUST make a run and win the A-10 Tournament to make it to the big dance because that is their only option at this point with their record being an even 15-15. Here’s to hoping they keep some magic going…
